Miller Developments has announced that Bella Italia is the latest addition to the Crown House retail and leisure scheme in Orpington, where construction is well under way for a June 2015 handover to tenants.

The Italian dining chain is the first to commit to the £12m development, which is an extension of the adjacent Walnuts Shopping Centre.

Bella Italia has agreed to let a 3,400 sq. ft. unit on a 20-year term and is expected to open by autumn 2015, along with a seven screen cinema.

The 65,000 sq. ft. Crown House scheme is now over 80% pre-let, with Odeon, Pure Gym and B&M Retail already committed, and another restaurant under offer.

Currently 90% of the space in the new building has been pre let to Dean's Diner, B&M and Pure Gym. I was going to rent one of the retail units because they were on 2 floors but the upper floors were rented to pure gym. From what I am aware they aren't announcing Dean's Diner yet.

Does anybody know what other shops and restaurants are due to open here? I'm aware of the cinema but can't seem to find information on anything else other than this Bella Italia. Thanks.

Martin, really appreciate the feedback. Although I understand why it's not appropriate to name companies not already in the public domain, is there an expectation that the units which are currently empty in and around the new development, will all have tenants by the time the cinema is due to open?

The tenants that have signed and it being in the public domain and therefore ok to mention are Dean's Diner will be next to Bella Italia. B&M and Pure Gym will be on the other corner of the building. There will also be Creams Cafe opening in the building opposite under Premier Inn as well as Premier Inn's restaurant. Near by shops coming also include Loungers coming where the bed shop was and Foxtons estate agent where Dorothy Perkins was. I think one of the reasons why there haven't been many announcements is that only half of Creams has A3 use as a restaurant so they had to get planning permission and part of the application was that there weren't many other A3 use shops near by.

Odeon should be opening in around November now but it might change again. I own a company in Orpington that should be advertising in the new cinema but they can't give me the dates the adverts will be starting

Following the announcement of Bella Italia, it seems to have been quiet with regards to further additions to the cinema development and the surrounding square. Is anyone aware as to whether further restaurants / shops are close to signing leases?

This is getting really exciting, and the kids and I walk past this complex on a weekly basis. Kids can't wait anymore. It's really coming together and now seeing lovely restaurants coming on board, can't wait for the opening, and to enjoy our new complex. Bring it on xxxx

So we have a B&M shop & this italian restaurant...How many more to fill? It's hard to tell where this is going? As a destination for families ideally a food outlet appropriate...Then again, a bingo hall might go down well?!
