Beauty salons, tattoo studios, spas, barbers across England will be able to offer all close contact services and treatments from Saturday 15th August in a further easing of lockdown restrictions.
"Close contact" beauty services such as facials, eyebrow threading, eyelash treatments, make up application and microblading will resume.
Bowling alleys, casinos and soft play centres will also be able to reopen, the Prime Minister has announced.
New guidance will also mean that staff offering "close contact" services, including hairdressers, will now have to wear a face mask as well as a clear visor.
The government said the move, which follows new evidence from the scientific advisory group for emergencies (Sage) is aimed at protecting customers and staff from respiratory droplets caused by sneezing, coughing, or speaking.
Fines for repeatedly not wearing face coverings where mandated will be significantly increased in the coming weeks, doubling to a maximum of £3,200 for those who repeatedly flout face covering rules, and on the spot fines for hosting or facilitating illegal gatherings of more than 30 people will be introduced.
