On 25th March, the government amended its guidance to local authorities on the application of rates relief for 2020/21 to include estate agents and casinos.
In response to the coranvirus and as a result of lobbying, the government has today updated its guidance to local authorities on the application of rates relief to include certain properties previously excluded from the relief, but that have been forced to close as a result of coronavirus restrictions.
• Estate agents and letting agents
• Betting shops
• Employment agencies
• Casinos, gambling clubs and bingo halls,
• Wellness Centres, Spas and Massage Parlours.
will now be eligible for the relief previously announced by the chancellor. The government has said businesses do not need to apply for this relief – it will be automatically applied to your bill for 2020/21.
