This week the UK is celebrating grassroots charities through daily activities to raise the profile of the small charity sector.
Friday is dedicated to the impact that small charities can make to their community, something Kent Community Foundation (KCF) knows only too well. KCF has been supporting small charities in Kent and Medway since 2001 and recognises that often a modest sum of money or a small piece of advice can make a significant impact.
The KCF team (pictured) is led by Chief Executive Josephine McCartney who says, “Kent Community Foundation aims to create strong local communities by connecting those who want to help with those seeking help. We want to empower organisations and charities in Kent and Medway who can make a real and positive difference to people’s lives.”
KCF connects those who want to help by establishing and administering funds from individuals and businesses and awards this funding to a wide range of local charities requiring financial support. KCF generally supports charities with an annual income under £100,000, with average grants of £4,000 and since 2001 has distributed over £34m.
