On Saturday 13th April, The Orpington Café & Record Store joined hundreds of independent record shops, musicians and fans across the UK in coming together to celebrate the unique culture of independent music shops.
Founded in 2007, Record Store Day sees special vinyl editions released exclusively for the day with some shops hosting special events to mark the occasion. Thousands more shops celebrate the day around the globe in what’s become one of the biggest annual events of the music calendar.
A large crowd of music lovers queued up in anticipation of The Orpington’s Record Store Day opening, which attracted visitors from across the borough and Kent.
Owner Scott Buckle, said, “We’re delighted with the response we’ve had for our first involvement in Record Store Day. There’s been a great buzz about the place and some very happy customers. We can’t wait to build on it next year.”
The award winning The Orpington is now serving a new supper menu from Tuesday - Saturday.
