The Mayor of Bromley, Councillor Kim Botting, visited the Saxon Centre (Age Concern) in Orpington on Monday 11th March to meet clients of the Centre.
During the visit she officially handed over a 75" television presented by the Rotary Clubs of Orpington and Orpington Crofton who had raised the funds for its purchase. Presidents of both Clubs, along with other Rotarians, were present for the ceremony.
The television helps to stimulate clients attending the Centre, including some who have early stage dementia, for example by showing DVD's of past times or history of the local area. This is enjoyable, bringing back old memories and leading to reminiscence and discussion
