The Winners of the Community Grants have been chosen following a meeting of the judging panel. Seven lucky applicants were chosen to share the £10,000 prize pot and all are within a 2 mile radius of the Shopping Centre and benefit many sections of our local community.

We are very pleased to announce the seven lucky winners are:

ICare Day Centre Trust in Green St Green. They requested support to upgrade their kitchen facilities for the benefit of their visitors and staff and to be able to reach more Stroke victims and their Carer's locally.

St Mary Cray Primary Academy in St Mary Cray. To encourage the children to take part in a new Gardening Club at school, for the benefit of all pupils, staff, helpers and Parents and of course the children themselves.

Credo Creative Arts Project - Cotmandene St Pauls Cray. They needed funding to provide another 6 months of ceramics workshops for 60 participants, many of whom have suffered with mental health issues. Art therapy is a very useful tool for improving health & well being and allows all taking part to find new friends as well as gain confidence and find their inner artist!

Petts Wood & Orpington Chess Club. They wanted to set up a rapid play chess tournament for all ages and abilities to encourage new and experienced players to take up the game. We Look forward to hosting the First of these next year!

Petts Wood Operatic Society. To improve the availability of live music and theatre to dementia sufferers and their families. It is now well recognised that such activities have a positive and therapeutic effect on people in all stages of the disease.

Friends of Jubille Country Park, The friends asked us to help provide appropriate signage along a new trail being built for their disabled visitors allowing them independent access around the trail providing a wonderful green space to enjoy.

Glebe School West Wickham. Although this would seem to be outside our catchment we know that the Glebe has many Orpington pupils so we thought it right to include them. They have had building works completed and can now regain their Orchard. They wanted to be able to encourage children to join in in replanting and making the area a bountiful place of fresh fruits once again. An Apple Day is planned annually for all the Community to enjoy and take part in fun & games!

Congratulations to all the Winners your #Walnutswish has been granted and we can't wait to follow your progress!
