The essential skills for medical emergencies prior to the arrival of the ambulance service and mean you could be the difference between a life lost and a life saved.
You will also have an opportunity to find out about the voluntary work of St John Ambulance in Orpington and how to become a volunteer providing first aid in the community.
Don't forget to let us know that you are coming by emailing: John.Matthews1@sja.org.uk
Unit Manager John Matthews said: “You may have already decided on a New Years Resolution or yet to make one, but why not start the new year off by learning something which could save someone’s life? Learning first aid is simple and only takes a few hours, but it can have an incredible impact on someone’s life.
“We’re also keen to encourage local people to consider volunteering with our unit; no previous experience is needed as full training, including first aid, is provided. This session would offer someone a taster session, so we’d ask anyone interested to come along, meet the team, and find out more about the voluntary work we do as well as our service to the community over the past 100 years.”
Open to those who live in Orpington, Chelsfield, Petts Wood, St Mary Cray, Chislehurst, St Paul's Cray, Bromley, Bickley, West Wickham, Hayes, Farnborough, Crofton, Locksbottom, Green Street Green, Knockholt and beyond.
Please note that these sessions are aimed at those aged 18 and over. If you are under 18, please contact us for alternative ways to learn first aid.
