On 21 May, fifty Kent businesses will learn more about preparing their organisations, for recruiting and retaining millennials, at an event in Folkestone, sponsored by Kent Community Foundation

At the breakfast event held at Wards Hotel in Folkestone, Kent businesses will learn about the innovative work being done by the Folkestone Academy Careers Programme and the importance of developing links with a range of community organisations and employers to provide, students with a broad range of opportunities and experiences and employers, with the most rounded and fully prepared employees.
Josephine McCartney, Chief Executive, Kent Community Foundation, volunteers as an Enterprise Adviser, for the Enterprise Adviser Network, to support Careers Adviser’s in schools across Kent and Medway. As an Enterprise Adviser she uses her business experience and professional networks to help develop and implement an effective strategy that puts opportunities with local employers at the heart of a young person's education. By sponsoring this business breakfast, McCartney hopes she will able to connect and engage more businesses with careers advice programmes throughout the county.
Josephine McCartney, Chief Executive, Kent Community Foundation comments,
“The careers work being done in the Folkestone Academy is truly innovative and I am hoping that by sponsoring this business breakfast on 21 May we will raise awareness of what is being achieved in colleges and schools and encourage more Kent businesses to engage fully with careers programmes to lay solid foundations for the recruitment and retention of future employees.”

The guest speakers at the breakfast event will be, Katy Tibbles, Career Lead at the Folkestone Academy and Craig Hammer, Senior Operations Manager, Saga who actively support the careers programme.
