Let me introduce to you - 'Nark Drool and the Shudders' - a veritable musical time machine!
We are a 6 piece band, 5 guys and 1 gal, recreating the youth club and dance hall favourites of the late 50's and early 60’s, with a repertoire ranging from Presley, Cochran, Billy Fury, Brenda Lee and Connie Francis at one end to twangy guitar instruments, smoochy teen ballads and doo wop songs at the other. ‘Nark Drool and the Shudders’ have headlined at many festivals and events, including the Twickenham Riverside Festival, the Cabaret Suite at Twickenham Stadium, and for two years running the prestigious New Year's Eve Ball at Chelsea Arts Club. In November 2011 we were the featured house band on the live BBC ‘Children in Need’ TV programme from Hyde Park. Recent gigs include the Brightona Bikers Festival in Brighton, the Harley Davidson Owners Rally in Eastbourne and corporate events at Shepperton Studios and aboard the Thames showboat – ‘Southern Belle’. at present we are headlining at the Rugby World Cup Fanzone in Twickenham.

sharon collins. Re:Priorylive event Sat 15th August. As the event organisers we are sorry that you did not enjoy this free event. As to the price of the fairground rides £2.50 per child is the average price in most places, and £5.00 for a bungee is again the standard rate for a ride of it's kind. Had you felt so strongly about the price being charged you had the option to take your children off the ride or to speak with the operator if you were upset. As to your comment on the infestation of rats around the pond area of the park, having myself been a resident of Orpington for 48 years many of which were spent living within a very short proximity of the priory I understand that this is a problem that has been ongoing for years and has absolutely nothing to do with the festival.
Once again we are sorry that you did not enjoy the festival.

Re the music festival on Sat. I went with a friend and two children - I cannot believe I was charged £5 for two children, on of whom is only 2, to go on a train that just went round and round for about 3 minutes and then was charged £5 for one of them to go on bungee/trampoline for a few minutes. Completely overpriced!

Also the area around the ponds was alive with rats! That has never happened before and I have been going to the park for many years.

I see from the information that there is to be a vintage mobile cinema as part of the day's events. Could you let me know what sort of films are to be shown. I ask because a few years ago we put together old cine film for Bromley's Local Studies which is available to watch. This is old film originally shot for the cinema which stood in Orpington High Street some dating back to the 1930s.

Perhaps you would let me know if you are interested in showing this.

Regards,
Brenda Troughton

Hi Shannon dogs are allowed in the community zone only, the main event area is a no dog zone , im afraid this a park restriction all year round and not of our own doing, we hope that you can still come and enjoy the fun
